The v2.56 version of RSPlayer2 has been re-released this evening (30/10/2006) with additional bug fixes for the issues that MarkF raised on the forum recently.

The download link you all received in your e-mails is still active if you want to re-download the fixed update

IMPORTANT NOTE

When using the "Play artist once every xx hours" feature in the options, RSPlayer2 will now ONLY match exactly. This means that it will assume that one artist collaborating with another on a specific track, is a DIFFERENT ARTIST altogether and will not match and mark it.

I.e. "Robbie Williams" and "Robbie Willians with Kylie Minogue" are not an exact match, so if a track by one of those is played, the other will not be marked as a song by the same artist - if that makes sense.

RSPlayer2 is still NOT case-sensitive, i.e. "Robbie" and "robbie" are the same thing (note the strange Robbie Williams fascination).

We may look into a better way to do this in the future, but for now, to fix the artist known as "A" problem for Mark, this is the only fix I could do this quick

The Radio Server Player v2.56 update was released today

You should all be receiving your update e-mails very soon throughout the day. If you have not heard from us within 48 hours, please let us know so we can point you in the right direction of the download.

If you have never received an update e-mail from us (and you are an RSP customer of course), try and contact ShareIt Customer Services (http://www.shareit.com/), who deal with the licence distribution for our products, to make sure your e-mail address information is all up to date and correct.

The new features in this release are as follows:

* Playlist History Minimise Option
* Next/Back Buttons Added to Database Edit Windows
* Update Notifications Added for Future New Releases
* AGC Adjustments - Added Arrow Buttons for Smaller Changes
* Each Cart can now have an Independant Volume
* Limit Playback of Specific Jingles (Once Every XX Hours)
* AGC Cutoff and Compressor Threshold Adjustments Added
* Randomization of Jingles/Sweepers/Promos Between Songs
* FLAC File Support Added

...plus there has been the usual bug/error fixing for any reported issues.

We have no current plans on continuing work on RSP Standard (for v2.57) at this stage, as we want to start concentrating on the professional edition for next year.

Updates on any progress will appear on this forum as always!

Hello all

I thought I would bring you guys a bit of an update from us, as there�s been a lot going on recently. So grab a cuppa and settle in, as Tony Green would say!

1. Hosting - Okay first things first, we have been having a shuffle with our hosts lately, so our apologies for any downtime. It's all part of a server migration and all that jazz. But have now moved onto the new server and the DNS has been updated, so all should be well now

2. RSPlayer v2.56 - The next instalment of RSPlayer is on the horizon now. We have been very busy with updates, so plenty to look forward to in this next build. We can't give an exact time frame for the release, but we have a couple of things to finish off and then let the BETA testers do their damage to it, then we can release.

3. RSPlayer Pro - The mother ship of RSPlayer will begin development very soon. We are looking to cease development on RSPlayer Standard after v2.56 has been released for the time being. This will give us more time to focus on Pro.

I think I have covered everything that needs to be said. Hope that wasn't too painful Keep an eye out on the announcements section though, as any further updates/news will be posted there. Also, watch out for a post on RSPlayer Pro soon. I'm hoping we can put together something that will give you an insight of what's to come.

The Radio Server Player v2.55 update was released this evening! You should all receive your update e-mails within 24 hours, notifying you of the download details for the update.

If you have not heard anything after this time, please contact us - BUT PLEASE ALLOW 24 HOURS FIRST!

NEW FEATURES IN VERSION 2.55

* More Carts added (90 now!)
* Separate detachable Cart window - this is a HUGE new feature!
* Disable Auto-DJ option added
* Quick enable/disable of AGC by clicking the "Gain" button in the player
* Extended security now with database password protection too
* Improved ID tag recognition - re-written system
* Key shortcut added "*" (asterisk on the keypad) to stop ALL Carts playing
* Ctrl+?? Cart key shortcuts added (Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2 etc.) - see the help file for more info
* Ability to add track genre and duration info to the FTP upload text file
* Another multimedia engine upgrade
* Various Bug Fixes

I just want to say a big THANK YOU (with hugs and kisses) to all those involved in the release, especially Andrew

Also a big thanks to all the people who suggested some of the excellent features in this release, you know who you are

We have now officially launched the brand new support forum for RSPlayer 2. This enables customers to exchange comments and gain access to support.
